This book records transactions where the U.S. Government (agents) was the Grantor. Some early settlers walked into the Land Office and made a purchase. For others, they were given a tract of land in payment for their service in the United States Armed Forces.

These Land Grants transactions are indexed by location ie. Range and Township.

Louisa County Land Records may also be found in the Louisa County Recorders' Office.

This site enables the general public, for free, to view appraisal information, tax information and digital maps of all properties in the county.

1. Select State
2. Select a site (you will have all the counties in Iowa that have this service) Select Louisa County
3. Navigate to
Property Search
Enter address – It will pull up a page with the property description and a photo of the building
4. Then select the back arrow button on your computer (found on the upper left side of your screen)
Select View Map – and will give you a satellite view of the property.
