THE RURAL CHURCH |
Even people living in our community that do not attend our church regularly like to know the church is there and still open to anyone who wishes to worship there and this is why. |
I believe the rural church is useful in the welfare of our nation. |
I believe in the rural people, their need for Christ and their hopes and dreams for their families. |
I believe in the rural Christ. He loved the flocks and fields, birds and trees. |
I believe in a new day for rural live, rural community, and their ideals. |
I believe I must have some part of this rural church. |
I believe in the Rural Church. |
THE PIONEER |
They came |
Those glorious pioneers |
Heedless of forest, of ice and snow |
Carrying His word in spite of fears |
Obeying the voice which bade them go. |
They saw |
God’s forest, His lake and stream |
The Challenge of a home in the wild |
They saw the Sunset’s golden beam |
In His great out-of-doors undefiled. |
They built |
The Church with wisdom rare |
In the Center of village and town; |
The library, school and place of prayer |
Where the power of God came down. |
They left |
A heritage noble and true |
For those who should follow along; |
A duty for me, a trust for you |
With a prayer and a glorious song. |

TEN COMMANDMENTS OF WORSHIP |
(found in an old English Church) |
Thou shalt not come to service late, |
Nor for the amen refuse to wait. |
When speaks the organ’s sweet refrain, |
The noisy tongue thou shall restrain. |
But when the hymns are sounded out, |
Thou shalt lift thy voice and shout. |
And when the anthem thou shall hear, |
Thy sticky voice thou shalt not clear. |
The endmost seat thou shalt leave free, |
For more must share the pew with thee. |
The offering plate thou shalt not fear, |
But give thine uttermost with cheer. |
Thou shalt the minister give heed, |
Nor blame him when thou art disagreed. |
Unto they neighbor thou shalt bend, |
And, if a stranger, make a friend. |
Thou shalt in every way be compassionate, |
Kind, considerate, and of tend mind. |
And so, by all they spirit’s grace, |
Thou shalt show God within this place. |
