The Church of God was organized and had a building in the north end of town in the early days. It is noted in 1889 “Portraits of Louisa County” that an Archibald Megrew, born in 1809 In Allegheny County Pennsylvania, became a preacher for the Church of God. He came to Iowa in 1851, settling in Grandview and was a missionary and preacher for the Church of God in Louisa County. He died in 1888 – a member of the Church of God in Grandview.
The Congregational Church was later built on the same site.
