Land Description On April 29, 1869, there was filed in Deed Record R, page 357, a plat of "James B. Silverwood's Addition to Pleasant Grove Burying Ground located on the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 34, Township 76 North, Range 12 West of the 5th P.M. The Northeast corner of Block 1 is 20 feet south of the Northwest corner of Pleasant Grove burying ground. There are 20 blocks and 8 lots in each block. The size of the lots are 12 feet by 24 feet. The alleys are 6 feet in width. There is a street 20 feet in width on south side of blocks 5, 6, 7, and 8." The plot was surveyed by Joel Crossman, County Surveyor, dated Apr. 6, 1869. On Apr. 6, 1869, J. B. Silverwood and Ellen W. Silverwood acknowledged that the plat was made with their consent and in accordance with their desire, that they caused the survey to be made, that the plot of land was to be known as Silverwood's Addition to Pleasant Grove Burying Ground to be used for burial purposes only and to be sold in lots as designated on the plat. Notarized by S. A. James, Notary Public. On April 6, 1869, ordered by William McLoud, County Judge, to be recorded. Headstones Note: V in the margin before a name designates a veteran. M in the margin before a name designates that there is no stone at the grave, but a funeral home metal marker marks the grave site. No attempt was made to estimate the number of vacant spaces in the rows between the headstones read. Those spaces may represent unused burial plots or burials without headstones.
