Cemeteries

There are more than 75 cemeteries in Keokuk County that have been transcribed and indexed.
The Recorder's Office at the Keokuk County Courthouse owns a comprehensive index to the
tombstones that have been transcribed, as well as the actual transcriptions.
This collection also includes details about the history of and directions to each cemetery.

The cemeteries listed here are compiled from the W. P. A. Cemetery and county records and
from various other sources (obituaries, family records, the Iowa Gravestone Photo Project,
findagrave.com, familysearch.org, and researcher contributions).

Please contact me regarding errors or missing information or if you have questions.

Transcription of Cemeteries by Township

Transcriptions from the sources listed above and from the 1975 Cemetery Book have been combined,
with cemeteries now listed by township instead of on individual pages.

This cemeteries index is an ongoing project, as there are many cemeteries to be listed and transcribed.
