A resolution favoring the Primary Election system of placing candidates before the people was passed by the convention.

A splendid new sidewalk has been laid on the east side of the street between VOTE’s factory and the residence of Mr. S. LIGHT. Good; we always felt when crossing at night the old man-trap that was formerly there, that we needed a large policy in some accident insurance company, and were thankful that we had an unbroken pair of legs after we had crossed. We hope to see the new walk continued to the Railroad.
