Marriage license was issued today to Ernest A. LAUGHLIN and Nellie L. BISHOP, both of Libertyville.

E. A. LAUGHLIN of Libertyville was in town today.
J. C. THORNE made a business trip to Batavia today.

--Judge ROBERTS adjourned court Tuesday evening for and [sic] indefinite time, owing to Mr. ALLSUP, of the Germanville case, being sick.
Tax payers should not forget that March is nearly gone and with it will go the privilege of paying their taxes in partial payments. On April 1, the full amount will be due together with a penalty.
Mr. Arthur EVANS was in town today and made us a pleasant call. He has moved from Libertyville to Glasgow.
Seekers after gold are often disappointed, seekers after health take HOOD's Sarsaparilla and find it meets expectation.
Miss Maud MARTIN will return this evening on No. 16, from an extended visit with her parents at Cincinnati. She will assist on the JOURNAL force for a few days prior to beginning a term of school at Glasgow.
Mr. GLOTFELTY is moving from the country today into Rev. McCARTY's house in the southeast part of town.
Mrs. L. E. PATTON went to Burlington this morning.

H. COFFEEN was taken in early this morning with a bag full of chickens which he tried to sell to the ZEIGLER Co. He is now in charge of Sheriff BLACK.

Mrs. J. ANDERSON died at her home east of Fairfield this morning at 2 o'clock. Funeral will be held tomorrow.
J. LIVIX, from near Glasgow, is in the city today.
Mrs. S. H. WATKINS, died at her home at Libertyville last Saturday morning. The funeral took place at 10 o'clock today.
Three Jefferson county young men graduated at the dental department of the State University last Friday. Henry WEIKERT and Fred WELLS, of Fairfield and Carl GRAFTON, of Packwood.
B. L. GOSSICK expressed three fine hogs to Douglass, Ill., today.
Fravis EMERY and David HORTON of Brighton, passed through the city today on their way to Batavia.

Rev. BENGSTON preached at Fairfield Sunday and consequently his place here was empty.
Miss Anna LINDERSON will teach the spring term at No. 8, north of here.
Miss Ida HANSON left for Fairfield Sunday evening, where she has a position in a millinery store.
Our postoffice changed hands last week and is now in care of Mr. C. OVERSTREM.
Misses Milda RAPP and Anna LINDERSON were at Mt. Pleasant Saturday.
Messrs. John ANDERSON and Earnest NELSON were at Fairfield on business Friday.
Miss Etta ANDERSON left on Friday last for Burlington, to remain some time.
