What's in a name? Anything and everything. Names define us to a degree, and are extensions of who we are and many times of what makes us happy. Many of the local folk way back when had the idea to name their farms, as a reflection of the pride they had in their homes and land. Below is an article from the local paper in 1922 with a listing of the named farms and their owners.

Clover Leaf, Cloverdale, Sunny Side Sunny Slope and Sunny Ridge are among the names of Jefferson County farms on record at the office of county recorder, Clyde C. Bell. There are sixty-eight in all bringing into use almost every letter in the alphabet, C. and S. being the most popular.
