WELLS & STRATER & LIBE or LYBE or LIEB Miles WELLS, Ohio, killed on the great Civil War ship disaster Sultana in 1865. Widow Sarah Ann WELLS remarried a Frederick STRATER 03/27/1866. Lived in Vandalia, Jasper County. Sarah Ann's maiden name was BRESINER. Witnesses to some of the pension papers had last names as LIBE or LYBE or LIEB. We know that an Elizabeth LIBE married Miles's twin brother Giles in 1853 in Ohio. What is the connection? We were always told 2 Libe sisters married to Wells brothers but right now we have a Wells & Libe and a Wells & Bresiner but widow pension papers for Wells & Bresiner have a Samuel and Daniel Libe as witnesses. There is some connection??? We've also been told that deceased Miles and his wife Sarah sent at least one of their children, William Miles Wells, to live with a James MORGAN family of Iowa. Thank you for your time.
