COOK, I am researching the family of Walter Ernest COOK and wife Mattie May FARBER, they owned a school in Newburg, Jasper co., Iowa called Newburg Consolidated High Scool. The school is now owned by Jim and Nancy WILLIAMS, if anyone knows the address of WILLIAMS I would appreciate it if I could get it. They own a piece of my heritage and I would love to contact them. BESACK, William H., son of Justice BESACK resided in Jasper County, IA from about 1861 to 1875. I have a journal that belonged to William H. BESACK which was written in the year 1873 when he was approx. 11 years old. In his journal frequent references are made to his friends: (by surname) DUTOT; BOLLHOEFER; NEWHOUSE; NEWELL; GIBBONS; WOODROW; BATEMAN; RAUGHCHILD; SPRINGER; RICHMAN; FAILOR (DR.); ARTIE. The most frequent entries are for DUTOT, BATEMAN and SPRINGER. Would like to share information with decendants of any of these families and gather historical information on the town around the year of 1873.

I'm looking for information on my g-grandmother: Remedy LEDBETTER B:1860. Remedy LEDBETTER married Levi CHOWNING B:1855. Remedy and Levi had a farm in Jasper Co. Ia. They traveled back and forth to Howell Co. Mo. On one of their many trips, Levi came back to Howell Co. Mo. with a new son named William CHOWNING B:1881. Levi's wife Remedy did not return to Missouri. Did she die during child birth? Did she die on the trail?

LOSURE..1st name Wilson, lived in the area of Baxter, IA. Died at age of 31 in 16 Jan 1857 and is buried in Block 4, Lot 44 in the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. His wife's 1st name was Oradine, who died 6 Jul 1894 in Sac City, IA and is buried there. They are my grt grt grandparents. Their son, Enos Wilson LOSURE, was my grt grandfather. Roxanne LOSURE, their daughter, married Moses BELT. Has anyone any information or connections to any of the above? If so, would appreciate hearing from you.

David A. PAUL and Linnie GREEN lived in Jasper County on January 5, 1896 because that is my Grandmother's birthdate. Her name was Helen Awilda Paul and she married John WEAVER, who was born July 13, 1892 at Sully, Iowa, on February 4, 1914.

I'm searching for PILKINGTON family members. I believe my grandmother Vera Elizabeth PILKINGTON (born 1903) was born in Monroe City. My great-grandfather, Walter PILKINGTON may have owned an automobile-related business in Jasper Co. around the turn-of-the-century. I have little information about any of my family, so any information for this surname will be greatly appreciated.

ULLERY,Iowa,late 1800's. I am looking for my greatgrandmother who was born in the mid to late 1800's. She did not know who her father was. so I was wondering if I could find information concerning Maggie Rennett Ullery (my great grandmother) & my great-great grandmother. Either Maggie or her mother could have been an Irish immigrant. Maggie Rennett Ullery married Homer RUBY. we do not know the year they were married.

Henry KINSELL moved to Jasper from Ohio. He married Eliz MAYFIELD and they had 7 children. Jessie B., James, William R., Ed C., Etta, H.M., and M. Jessie was born in Lee Cty in 1861.

Earl and Jossephine ROSE born 1905 & 1908. 315 Spring Street Grinnell, Iowa. This is what family records show. Is this house still standing? Their parents Alex and Stella (DAFT) did not live there long moving to Colfax, but his aunt Zada (Rose) and John WILDER did. I would like to contact anyone with information on this family.

PARKER, Henry Kitchen, my maternal gggrandfather, born 3 May 1815 in PA - lived in Newton and died there 19 January 1905. I am looking for his parents. Censuses say they were in PA and NJ. Would like a death register, which should give his parents' names or a cemetery location.
