EASTMAN, Alice Nora/Nora Alice born in Jasper county, Ia 8/23/1878 to John W. EASTMAN. John W. Eastman's father was living with them. His name was Norman F. Eastman. Can anyone tell me anything about Norman? It seem's as though he was just dropped in to the family there in Jasper county. I would really enjoy finding out anything about this EASTMAN family. John W. is the oldest of 11 children and I can't find out anymore. Thanks!

Looking for Osee LOGSDON who married Aquilla CUSHATT. Both Osee (d.3 Feb 1889) and Aquilla (d. 15 Apr 1889) are buried in Independence, Jasper Co., IA. Aquilla served in the Civil War from Jasper county. Their daughter, Sarah CUSHATT m. William VANDYKE in Jasper Co., 10 Nov 1860. Andrew CUSHATT appears with his parents Osee and Aquilla in the 1850, 1860, 1870 Jasper Co. federal census records. I am interested in any information regarding any members of the Osee and Aquilla CUSHATT family.

I am searching for more information regarding John Joseph DEE who was born 1846 in Germany, immigrated to Jasper Co. Iowa in 1881. He married Lisetta STORK. They lived and died in Jasper Co.

I am looking for John or Johann KENT (KINDT). He lived in Pa, Oh and in 1865 moved to Jasper, Ia. His wife was Mary Ann PATTERSON. He was born 26-Jan -1827, she was born 4-jun-1836. He died in Jasper and his obit simply says "died suddenly". I would really like to find out more. His children were Mary Ann b 8-aug-1855, William Richard b 1857, Cora Alice b 1859, Emma ? b 8-oct-1861, John Reed b 1863, Leander Arthur 14-nov-1865, Sarah Jane b 21-mar-1868, Walter Alfred b 27-Jan -1879, Olive Estell b 1881, Laura Belle b 7-apr-1873, and Charles Monroe b 15-aug-1870.

My great grandfather Finley SNELL was born in Newton in 1865. His mother's name was Mary SNELL. Soon after he was born, his grandparents took him to Minnesota to Meeker county to live. Has anyone came across the SNELL name in research?

I am looking for information on the family of Sabrah (MILLETT) RIDDLE. She was born 12 Feb 1852 in Penn. She came to Iowa in about 1855. She was living in Praire City, Iowa in 1916 and died before 1931.

BENJAMIN, Richard, b.c. 1835 in Wales; d. 17 Dec 1889, Newton, Jasper Co. His wife was Sarah DAVIS, b. Dec 1839, Wales; d. 11 May 1917, Jasper Co. Richard and Sarah were married in Wales and immigrated to US with their son, Ben, approx. 1862-1863. They settled first in IL, where Samuel, Rachel, Mary, David and Thomas were born. Richard was a coal miner, possibly in the area of Coal Valley, Rock Island Co., IL. By 1883, they moved to Iowa, where youngest son, William, was born. Of all their children, only Rachel, Mary, David and William survived to marry and raise families. I would like to exchange info with any descendants or anyone with info on this family. Allied families were: REXROAT, LONGREN, KUHN, CARRIER.

My great great grandmother married a David HARRIS in 1855 in Jasper County Iowa. He was born in Ohio about 1834. Because he was a step father to my Great grandmother, all I know is their children and decendants. I do not know where they came from before Ohio. David is buried at the Union Cemetery at Newton, Iowa. He was a Civil War Veteran.

Stephen and family to OR 1852, William, George, Calista and families to OR 1863. Elizabeth the dau m Charles BARKER ca 1860. He was killed CW; she remarried Adam_____. I am looking to locate more information on J.B. BESACK. He resided in Jasper County from 1855 to about 1875. A biographical sketch found in "Cutler's History of Kansas" states J.B. BESACK started the first paper in Jasper County, IA in 1855. J.B. BESACK also published papers in Guthrie and Shelby counties, IA. If anyone has come across more information regarding J.B. BESACK or any other BESACK, I would be delited to hear from you. I hope to find names of books or other publications which contain more profiles on BESACK, that I can buy or check out. Any information on where to find such materials or anything related to this name would be greatly appreciated.

VAUGHAN, John Henry B.1860 D.1923 Born in Mo. Son of William VAUGHAN and Malinda POWELL. Married Lydia ELDREDGE IN 1887. I believe that Geneey VAUGHAN, Born 1793 died 1861, was my great-great grandmother. All are buried in Swan Cemetery or Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg, IA.
