- When did Jannis BUTIN and Mary (MCAFEE) Butin move their family to Galesburg, Jasper Co., IA? They died on 2/18/1871 and are buried somewhere? in Galesburg. Their son, John Rennison Butin, (b. 9/20/1839, Logan, Ohio) married Mary Elizabeth JONES, (b. 11/10/1842, Mt. Vernon, OH) in Galesburg on June 30, 1861. John inherited his parent's farm (1/4 mi. NW of Galesburg). All seven of John and Elizabeth Butin's children were born on this farm: Lee Elsworth Butin 7/18/1861 or 1862; Louis Henry Butin 6/2/1864; Guy Clifford Butin 4/26/1868 (died abt 18 mo. later, buried somewhere? in Galesburg); Mae Butin 5/29/7__? and her twin - Myrtle Butin 5/29/7__?; Ida Jane Butin 9/13/1874; Jessie Grace Butin 6/3/1882 (this is my great great grandmother). None of the surviving children nor John and Mary stayed in Iowa. They moved to California October 28, 1884.

- Absolem CARY and Aaraminta PEER were married in Jasper, Co. in 1869. They had one child immediately, named Frank. I suspect that Frank was born in Jasper but have been unable to prove it. I am looking for any information that might prove whether he was or was not born in Jasper Co.

Sven and Edwin each homesteaded in Clay Co stated they had know each other in Jasper Co IA c. 1875. Sven renounced alliegence to King of Sweden 1866 in Riley Co KS. Would realy like to find Sven's location in IA and possibly where he came to IA from. Ultimately need to know his Port of Immigration in USA and from what Swedish Port did he Emigrate.

- Seeking descendants of John Ross SMITH and Eliza Jane BROWN (1847-1933), md. 1894 Jasper Co., Iowa. Eliza Jane died 30 Dec 1933 in Kellogg, Jasper Co., Iowa. She was the daughter of Thomas Forbus BROWN (1822-1919) and Matilda Barnett HALL (1823-1897). Thomas was a Christian Minister for many years. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Newton.
