This station on the Newton & Monroe road has hardly been slid off paper yet, and nobody is quite sure what the name will be; but Mr. Couch has partly consented that it shall bear the name given above. It is situated on the farm of Mr. Wilson, and is in the heart of the coal region. Its population may be characterized as nebulous; that is, as soon as arrangements are completed, many miners will make their homes at this point. The station house will be five miles due south of Newton, and will doubtless have a considerable population. Page 505 |
