This little villiage is situated on Section 16, Elk Creek Township, and is about five miles nearly east of Reasoner, the new station of the Newton & Monroe road. A large store is maintained here, and the surrounding population being remote from the railroads, a large business is done by its proprietors. The recent completion of the railroad will doubtless arrest the growth of the town to some extent, but, owing to its central location, it must continue to be the polling place and hustings for the township.
