Frank Kec Dies At Colfax;
Rites Will Be Friday
COLFAX--Frank Kec, 86, a resident
of Colfax since 1918 died Wednesday evening at the Grand
Hotel in Colfax.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Walters
Funeral Home at Colfax.
Father Karl Holtkamp of the Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church in Colfax will conduct the services.
Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery near Metz.
Mr. Kec is survived by his wife, Anna; a daughter, Mrs.
Ann Pink of Colfax; and two grandchildren.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Vaclav Kec, he was born Dec. 28,
1878 in Vodolka, Czechoslovakia.
He came to the United States in 1914, settling at the
Sievers mining camp. He returned to Czechoslovakia in 1917
to enlist in the army. He returned to Colfax in 1918.
He was married to Anna Vykuka July 31, 1919 at Prague,

COLFAX -- Anna Kec, 97, a longtime
resident of Colfax, died Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Mercy
Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Services will not be held.
Friends may call at Walters-Coburn Home in Colfax.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.
today at the funeral home. Cremation will follow
visitation.
Survivors are a daughter, Ann Pink of Newton; two
grandchildren, a step-grandchild; and two
great-grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and two
infant daughters.
Mrs. Kec, a member of the Colfax Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church had been employed by Newton Manufacturing
Co. and Vernon Co. of Newton.
The daughter of Vaslav and Marie Fillip Vykuka, she was
born March 28, 1892 in Vodolka, Czechoslovakia.
She was married to Frank Kec July 28, 1919 in Prague,
Czechoslovakia.
Mrs. Kec moved to Colfax Oct. 20, 1919. ~ The Newton
