Audra Helyne Emmack, 96, of Mt. Clair Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Omaha, Neb., died Sunday, March 16. Services will be held at a later date in Newton.
The daughter of Francis and Hannah (Leidig) Brooks, she was born Sept 5, 1906, in Amboy, Ill. She graduated in 1924 from the high school in Amboy, Ill., and then attended the Brown Business College. She was employed as a secretary until Mary 1931 for the New York Central Railroad. She also was employed for a time with the Welcome Wagon program.
On May 2, 1931, she married Lyle Emmack of Newton, in Chicago, Ill. They lived in the Chicago area until 1938. Mrs. Emmack joined the United Methodist Church in Newton in 1938 and was active in many capacities including the church choir, Sunday school teacher and superintendent and the Builders Sunday School class. She served actively in the PTA, the PEO and the Jasper County Cancer Society. She was a member of he Jasper County Farm Bureau and the Amboy Grange.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Emmack and Cathy Coe of Keithsburg, Ill., Norman and Naomi Emmack of Omaha, Neb. and Malcom and Barbara Emmack of Indianapolis, Ind.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four step- great-grandchildren. ~ Newton Daily News, March 21, 2003, Pg. 2A.

Lyle B. Emmack, 78, of 829 E. 7th St. N., a resident of Jasper County since 1938 and a salesman in various departments of Poweshiek-Jasper Farm Service Co. for more than 30 years, died Friday evening, July 6, at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, at the First United Methodist Church. Dr. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial of remains will be held in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Research or the United Methodist Church Building Fund may be left at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
Survivors are his wife, Audra; three sons, Charles E. of Osceola, Norman B. of Omaha, Neb., and Malcolm W. of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and three sisters, Zelma Williams and Mrs. John (Elva) Bell, both of Newton, and Mrs. Earl (Oleta) Runyan of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Emmack also had been employed as a statistician for the South Shore Line Railroad in Chicago, Ill., and as a salesman for Swift and Co. in Joliet and Chicago, Ill.
The son of Guy B. and Myra T. Brock Emmack, he was born Aug. 19, 1905 near Newton, was a 1923 graduate of Newton Community High School, attended YMCA College in 1926 and was graduated from Chicago College of Advanced Traffic in 1930.
He was married to Audra H. Brooks May 2, 1931 in Chicago, Ill. ~ Newton Daily News, July 9, 1984.

Arlington Heights, IL. - Todd Evan Emmack, a resident of Arlington Heights, IL, passed away November 29, 2008, at the age of 46. He was born October 6, 1962, in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles Emmack, residing in Keithsburg, IL and Jo Ann Garland Emmack, residing in Monroe, IA. He attended Clarke Community High School, graduating in the class of 1981, in Osceola, IA. Todd lettered on the Clarke Track and Cross Country teams and played trumpet in the Clarke high school band.
After graduating, he attended Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he received a BA in English in May 2005, while minoring in Philosophy.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Con and Mary Garland of Monroe, IA, and Lyle and Audra Emmack of Newton, IA.
Todd's passions were cross country and distance running, motorcross racing, bicycling, computer technology, and was an avid reader. He played a minor role in the movie "Wildcats" with Goldie Hawn, Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson in the mid 1980's. Todd's parents and a brother, Shawn Emmack of Germantown, TN, live to mourn his death.
Body will be cremated with grave side services at a later date.
