"Minutes show the Pleasant, View Cemetery was fenced at a cost of $26.80 in 1867. The size was 64' x 80'. Burials were made prior to that time, maybe as early as 1848, but these were probably unmarked graves.

"A Quit Claim Deed dated 11 month, 23rd, 1887 and filed 23 March 1888 refers to the property belonging to the Oskaloosa Monthly Meeting (formerly Spring Creek Monthly Meeting of the Society of Friends of the County of Mahaska, State of Iowa.)
"9th month, 17th, 1892 the proposal for the removal of the Pleasant View meeting house was discussed and then carried out. The meeting house was moved in to Kellogg, taken over the frozen river, and located in the Northwest corner of Kellogg where meetings of worship were held until about the turn of the century or shortly thereafter. The building was then taken down and the lumber used to build a dwelling house Southwest of Kellogg on the Old Mill Road.
In 1893 the tract of land adjoining the cemetery, where the meeting house stood, was sold, thus making the cemetery plot one acre. The money from the sale was used to improve the cemetery, 6th month, 17th, 1905 the Pleasant View Cemetery was turned over to Kellogg Township Trustees."
