CONROY CEMETERY
History by Pauline Italic
Located
Section 22 Hilton Township 80 Range 10, at the south east end of
own, A lane into the cemetery on south side.
History
This cemetery is one of the newest, having been established after
the town of Conroy, The town was named after James Conroy for his
energetic service to the RRY. company in obtaining the right of way
through the township (He is buried in Marengo, Catholic Cemetery.)
The history of 1915 mentions the town of Conroy on pages 63 and 212
under township of Hilton. Check the atlas of 1915 which locates
many of these families.
Evidently the Kuhnle and Teggatz families were the first buried
here and others, Rudin, Schmidt soon afterwards (1913-1914). This may
account for the reason no mention is made in History of 1915
Condition
Well cared for, neat and mowed, all grass clipped, No flowers or
trash up next to stones, in fact several evergreen trees, were all
that existed, Copied in October 20, 1975 and found it lovely.
Remarks
Easy to read- quickly copied;- These are kind make my day
