Local Department Heading

Last week a lady interested in the Sister of Charity Institution of New York City brought a load of 48 children from 3 to 5 years of age, out West, she left 7 in Chicago, 14 in Adams, 4 in Chaska, and the rest were taken to Emmetsburg, Iowa.

Miss Carrie McGrath had them in charge and she saw that each one got a good home. They were all checked with the name of their future guardian, before leaving New York.

She expects to bring a carload to Austin in June. The Institution she is connected with handles from two to three thousand children a year.
