CELEBRATION

Agreeable to appointment the Citizens of Livermore met in McCauley’s Rink Monday June 16, 1884 at 10 a.m. to make arrangements for a 4th of July celebration, and were called to order by W. M. Brackett, Mayor. 

Motion prevailed that George C. McCauley be appointed permanent chairman and W. M. Brackett secretary.  The following vice presidents and committees of invitation were selected from the several townships. 

  •   Norway, Ole Halgrim vice president; Ole Thompson and Nels Nelson invitation committee. 

  •   Lake, S. Luschinger vice president; W. S. Stanley and George James invitation committee. 

  •   Vernon, J. H. Foley vice president; Frank Stoddard and B. Bliss invitation committee. 

  •   Delana, T.A. Rossing vice president; T. J. Smith and T. Williamson invitation committee.

  •   Humboldt, J. A. Hunt vice president; Mat Redman and B. J. Stark invitation committee. 

  •   Beaver, H.J. Ketman vice president; and G. Weber and J. Murphy invitation committee. 

  •   Rutland, George Welch vice president; Charles Sherman and Capt Locke invitation committee. 

  •   Weaver, H. S. Cadet vice president; H. Reed and Dan Eversoll invitation committee.   

  • Springvale J. W. Foster vice president; B. H. Harkness and A.D. Bicknell invitation committee.

G. C. McCauley was elected president of the day, and T. J. Smith marshal of the day.

O. Ostrich and Hugh McCauley were appointed deputy marshals. 

 

The following committees were appointed: 

  •   Speaker committee - G. C. McCauley and E. S. Frank

  •   Printing committee - W. M. Brackett and Will Miller. 

  •   Amusements committee - John O’Brien, James Goddard, R. H. Green and J. Hiserodt. 

  •   Music committee - Will Miller, Ed Frank and R. Cooper. 

  •   Finance committee - J. H. Ford, Ed Frank and John O’Brien. 

  •   Grounds committee - Messer Goddard, Ray and Darling. 

  •   Transportations committee - Messrs Miner and O’Brien. 

  •   J. M. Meagher treasurer.
