Note from Cecilia Barton-Murrah: According to my oral family history there are 7 PACE family members buried at Mefferd Cemetery. Besides William Henry PACE and Mabel Vane PACE, whose grave I couldn't find, I am told that William's wife Sarah Ann "Nancy" FERGUSON PACE and his mother-in-law Minerva SCOTT BALLINGER, mother of Mary Ann BALLINGER PACE are also buried there. Only info I have on Minerva is that she died 1877 in Woodbine. Sarah Ann FERGUSON PACE was born Dec. 3, 1810 in Louisa Co., VA and died on July 8, 1899 in Woodbine, Harrison Co., IA.
Photographs of all tombstones in Mefferd Cemetery were taken June 14th 2002 by Cecilia "Cec" Barton-Murrah (cec@imagesverite.com).
Third photo for William Henry Pace was taken in the 1980's by Virginia Gray (ginny1076@juno.com).
Photograph of Mabel Vane Pace's marker taken April 2002 and contributed by Kim Henningfield (jeffnkimh@attbi.com), GGGGranddaughter of William Henry Pace. Kim was accompanied by her mother Wilma Moore Flanagan and two Aunts, Lyla Moore Johnston and Gertrude Moore Wood. All direct descendants of William Henry Pace and Granddaughters of Elisha A.
