The death of Mrs. Jacob Waltenberry occurred at her home east of Bartlett
last Thursday after a protracted illness with heart trouble and la grippe
aged 78 years 11 months and 21 days.
Deceased was born January 22,1837 in
Ireland. She came to Canada at the age of 18 and was married to Jas.
Cleve. To this union was born one son.
She later married Jacob
Waltenberry and moved to United States. To this union were born five
children. Four girls and one boy. She leaves besides her husband, two sons
and three daughters as follows. A.J. Cleve of Red Wing , Minn., Mary Keran
and Jas. Waltenberry of Bartlett, Maggie Pierce of Onawa and Bettie Wilson
of Council Bluffs, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren
besides a host of friends.
She united with the Church of Christ at Bartlett, August 30,1896 and continued faithful until God called her home.
The funeral was conducted from the home by Elder Chas. Aitken January 15, and interment was made in the Thurman cemetery.
