Holland, R. C., Word was received here this week that R. C. Rolland, who was formerly a resident of Sidney and in the blacksmithing business here, died of typhoid fever in Oklahoma last week. Tabor Beacon - 20 Dec 1895

Racobs, Dennis, the 7 year old s/o W. W. Racobs, died on Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock of typhoid fever. This dread disease has been raging thru the whole list of Mr. Racobs family and has at last succeeded in wresting this boy from his parents who have made such a long fight for his life (Sidney news item) Tabor Beacon - 27 Dec 1895

Fisher, Mrs. A. G. (Euphane), died at her home 1 and 1/2 miles west of town (Randolph) Sunday morning Dec 22, 1895, age about 50. We are sorry to say the particulars we did not learn. Tabor Beacon - 27 Dec 1895 (Randolph Cemetery, Euphane wf/o A. G., d. 23 Dec 1895, aged 62 years.

Brockie, Grandma (Jane) funeral was last Saturday. The services were held in the Baptist Church, Rev. Boyd being in charge. She was 82 years old. Tabor Beacon - 13 Dec 1895 (Grandview Cemetery, Jane Brockie, wf/o Henry d. 5 Dec 1895 age 82 years)

Walker, Minerva, died Sunday night 15 Dec 1895 at her home one mile east of town at the age of 23. She united with the M. E. Church last summer. Her life was bright and happy until about 2 years ago when she contracted consumption, which caused her death. (Randolph new item) Tabor Beacon - 20 Dec 1895

Hobson, Mary, wf /o Isaac Hobson, aged 81 years, died quite suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Baulkey. The remains were taken to Glenwood for interment Tuesday. Billings, A young man named Billings who lived near Farragut shot and killed himself last week. He was recently married and was living on Mr. Sniders west farm south of town. The circumstances are such as gave the coroners jury grounds for a verdict of suicide. He went to his neighbor, P. Feil, borrowed a revolver with which he killed a dog, and a few hours afterward, shot himself. Tabor Beacon - 15 Feb 1895

Weatherhead, Mrs. Bessy (Penny) who died at her home in Tabor IA, 7 Mar 1895 of peritonitis, was born 12 Nov 1872. Her girlhood was spent near Tabor. In the spring of 1890, she moved with her parents to Tilden NE. While there, the first great sorrow of her life came to her by the death of her devoted mother. She was married to George Weatherhead on 20 Dec 1893 and removed to Tabor IA, to make there a permanent home. She passed away, leaving behind a father, sister, brother, husband and infant son, 7 days old. Tabor Beacon - 15 Mar 1895

Hendrickson, Charles Albert, s/o Mr. W. F. Hendrickson of Sidney, died in Trinidad CO, 9 Dec 1895 of lung fever. He was born in Sidney 26 Nov 1868. He was united with the Presbyterian Church in Apr 1882. After graduating from high school, he went into business in Sedgwick KS in 1889, removing to Trinidad CO in 1892. His father brought the body to Tabor Wednesday and the funeral services were held at the residence of H. R. Laird at 2 P.M. Interment in Tabor Cemetery. Tabor Beacon - 13 Dec 1895

Addy, Isaac died at his home 6 miles northeast of Randolph Sunday night at 9 o'clock. He was about 71 years old. He had been sickly for nearly a year, and his death was expected several times, but each time he improved. All his children were present except one daughter, who had just left, but was sent for and came a few minutes after his death. Cobb, William, died at the home of his son Thomas Cobb on Sunday night, 7 Apr 1895 about 11 o'clock, lacking but a few months of being 90 years old. His exact age is 89 years 9 months 14 days. He was married to Alice Rhode 63 years ago. This was a happy marriage, and lasted until about 7 years ago when the wife died. To this union 9 children were born, 3 of whom survive: Thomas, at whose home the aged father died, Pine Valley IN; John, who lives near Rainsville IN and Elizabeth Williams, who lives at Tabor IA. John and Thomas were at the bedside constantly during the last illness of their father. Rev. D. A. Rogers had the services at his residence, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Quaker Cemetery, 4 miles south of Pine Valley IN. Tabor Beacon - 19 Apr 1895

Charles Hansel, father of W. L. Hansel of Farragut, hanged himself Tuesday, north of Malvern. His remains were interred in Malvern Cemetery. Tabor Beacon - 4 Oct 1895

Ada Charlotte Chambers, aged 17, d/o C. M. Chambers, drowned in the Missouri River and the body was found near St. Joseph MO. Tabor Beacon - May 1895

Mrs. Lucinda R. Penney, died at her home near Tabor, 18 May 1895 at 10 P.M. She was the wife of John C. Penney in the 52nd year of her life. The only tie that bound her here was the love of her little family and friends. Tabor Beacon - May 1895

Grover Copeland, age 6 years, only child of Sterling and Jenny Copeland became suddenly ill about a week ago and died Tuesday morning. Tabor Beacon - 3 May 1895 (Buried Blanchard Cemetery no date, died from eating poisoned weeds.. (Leland's note says d. 30 Apr 1895.)

Marie West, mother of H. W. West (formerly a school teacher in these parts). He visited with his mother, who was very sick with cancer of the stomach, last week. Mrs. West died Tuesday evening. A few years ago Leland Smith of Tabor, Fremont County, Iowa, abstracted obituaries from the Tabor Beacon newspaper. Tabor is on the county line between Mills and Fremont County, therefore the paper printed obituaries from both counties. These were later microfilmed by the LDS Church on microfilm #1491976. ~ transcribed and contributed by Cay Merryman
