David Study

David Study,the subject of this sketch, came from Nauvoo to Council Bluffs
with a colony of Mormons bound for Utah in 1846. Mr. Study left the
colony at Council Bluffs and enlisted in the Mexican war served three years
and returned to Iowa in 1849, settling near Thurman, where he lived
continuously until his death Saturday, September 20. The funeral services
were held at the Leeka. Intement was made in Thurman cemetery. Deceased
leaves a wife,two sons and four daughters.

Mrs. Josie Hindman
Thurman friends wre surprised Sunday to hear of the death of Mrs. Josie
Hindman at Greenwood , Nebraska. Mrs. Hindman had been sick the past few
weeksbut the end was not expected so soon.
the funeral services was held at Greenwood Tuesday where burial was
made.
Mrs.W.H.Hicks, Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Burson and Miss Chloe Husband all of
Thurman attended the service. We hope to have the complete obituary next
week.
