John W. Singleton was born near Hamburg, Iowa, October 25, 1842. He lived until married on the place near Walnut Creek, called Singleton Grove.
He was married in 1867, to Fannie Good, who lived near Glenwood. They moved to Odell, Nebraska, in 1887, then later to University Place in
Lincoln, Nebraska, where he died November 30, 1926.
Those who survive him are his wife, one sister in California, four daughters,
Mrs. E. T. Jay of Lincoln, Mrs. P. B. Laird of Tabor, Mrs. T. H. Ellis of Ocean Park, California, and Mrs. Eleanor Beba of Oakland,
California, and one son J. W. Singleton of Fairbury, Nebraska. Mrs. Singleton came to Tabor December 6, and will spend some weeks
with Mrs. P. B. Laird and then will live with her son at Fairbury.
All were present at the funeral except the daughters in California.
