Services for Paul Pierce, who died of burns suffered in a fire on Monday night, January 24, at his home near Bartlett, were held on Friday, February 28, 1966, at 3:30 p.m.,
at the Crawford Reeves Funeral Home, with the Rev. Irving Mitchell officiating.
A duet number was sung by Mrs. Darrel Banatta, and Mrs. Donald Dauglass accompanied by Mrs. Dan Haggar. The pallbearers were Truman Lorimor, Clark Rickabaugh, John Meads, Chester Forney,
Kenneth Rickabaugh, and Jerry VanScyoc. In charge of the flowers, were Mrs. Russell Curtis, Mrs. Scott Kempton, Mrs. Cecil McCollum, Mrs. Chester Forney and Mrs. Clark Rickabaugh.
Interment was in the Thurman Cemetery.
Paul pierce was born on November 3,1901 at Thurman and passed away from this life at Nebraska Methodist hospital in Omaha on January 26,1966 at age of 64.
He was united in marriage on December 16,1922 to Hilda Evelyn Hammers. To this union three children were born, Norman of Malvern, Rex of Shenandoah and Cleland of Sidney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Left to mourn his loss are his wife, three sons, eight grandchildren, four brothers, Raymond, Luke,
Ton and Buryl, all of Bartlett, and one sister, Mrs. Sylvester Welchans of Riverton, nieces, nephews and a host of friends and relatives.
Paul spent his entire life farming in the Bartlett Community and was loved by all who knew him.
