Genevieve Gubser, daughter of Anton and Catherine Gubser, was born at Davenport, Ia., June 7, 1861, and departed this life Friday, September 9, 1932, at the age of 71 years, 3 months and two days. With her parents she moved to Hamburg in May 1868 and spent the rest of her life on the old homestead, five miles east of Hamburg.

Miss Gubser was a faithful member of the Catholic church and her generosity in supporting her church could not be surpassed. Her charity was unlimited, devoting her entire life to those in her care. She will be sadly missed by relatives and friends who could not help but love and admire her. She leaves to mourn her loss five brothers, John L., of Ulysses, Nebr., Nicholas J., of Tulsa, Okla., Ben L., of San Francisco, Calif.; Henry and William of Hamburg; and two sisters, Mrs. J. J. Roup of Hamburg, and Mrs. Frank Ellsworth of Fontana, Calif,; besides a number of nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Frederick, George and Joseph preceded her into the world beyond.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church Monday morning, September 12, at 9:00 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Father E. R. O'Donnell.
Interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery.
