Ellis Glasgo Services Held

Funeral services for Ellis Glasgo were held at the Harding Funeral Home October 7, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Paul D. Beaver and the Rev. Homer Max of Council Bluffs officiating. Glenn Sheirbon sang "It Is Well With My Soul" and "Zion's Hill", accompanied by Mrs. Homer Max. Mrs. Ernest Blank and Mrs. Ross Barrett took care of the floral arrangements. Pallbearers were Marion Glasgo, Jim Glasgo, Don Glasgo, Glen Beck, Kenneth Beck and DeLoss Smalley, Jr. Interment was in Chambers cemetery.

Ellis Glasgo, son of Presley and Martha Glasgo, was born April 2, 1870 in Fremont County and passed away at the Simons Nursing Home in Shenandoah at noon, October 4, at the age of 88 years.

He was united in marriage to Addie May Baker on March 24, 1898. Most of their married life was spent in Fremont and Page Counties. Mr. and Mrs. Glasgo celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary March 24, 1958, and his wife passed away April 13, 1958.

Eleven children were born to this union; six daughters and four sons who survive: Mrs. DeLoss (LaVerne) Smalley; Mrs. John (Zella) Alley; Mrs. Boyd (Pearl) Braymen; Mrs. Jake (Lois) Beck; and Mrs. Margaret Holman, all of Shenandoah; Mrs. Stella McGaffigan of Anderson, Iowa; Merle of Shenandoah; Morris, of Manhattan Beach, California; Earl of Essex; and Dwain of Aurora, Illinois.

He also leaves to mourn, 26 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Besides his wife, one daughter, Francis (Mrs. Emil Bernardi), his parents, three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Glasgo was a very devoted father to his family.
