Jacob Garrean
Jacob Garrean was born in Illinois January 1, 1837, and died November 28, 1915 being the age of 78 years, 10 months and 27 days. He moved to Iowa in 1864 and united in the Baptist church soon after landing here and was a faithful member until the end.
He was united in marriage to Miss. Susan Edminston in 1859. Eight children were born to them; five girls and three boys. Those living are Ella Kirkpatric of Blencoe, Iowa; Mrs. Rebecca Furgereson of Caslake, Minn.; Mrs. Betty Hughes of Mosco, Idaho; Mrs. Fanny Glafue of Linn, Okla. and Andy Garreans of Bartlett, Iowa.
His wife died in 1888. He was united in marriage to Rebecca Gordon. She died September 20, 1912. No children were born to them.
The funeral was held from the home of his son A. J. Garrean, on Monday November 29, 1915 at 10: a. m., conducted by Elder Charles Aitken.
