F. J. DUFF WILL BE LAID TO REST TODAY
Funeral services for F. J. Duff, who passed away early Thursday morning, June 26 at his home here, have been set for this morning, Friday, June 27, at 9 o'clock, in St. Stanislaus
Catholic Church, with Rev. Victor Schmidtzinsky officiating, and interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be James Duff, Richard and Rhea Kalka, grandsons, and John and Jackie Tucker, Tommy Searcy and Raymond Adamietz. Rosary was recited at 7:30 Thursday evening in Plummer Funeral Home Chapel.
Francis Jerome Duff was born on March 15, 1874, at Anderson, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Duff. He grew to manhood in Anderson and on May 7, 1902, was happily married to Miss
Clara Maude Thompson, at Malvern, Iowa, a small community near Anderson. To this union was born nine children. Only four of them grew to be adults.
Mr. and Mrs. Duff and their children moved to Bandera county in 1921 to make their home near Tarpley. Mr. Duff ranched in the Tarpley community for many years and when he retired about 15 years ago, moved in to Bandera to spend their declining years.
Mr. Duff was a kindly, well liked gentleman, highly esteemed by all who know him, and will be greatly missed by a large number of friends in the Hill County.
Survivors include his sorrowing wife, Mrs. F. J. Duff, of Bandera; three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Kalka, Mrs. Thelma Jureczki, Mrs. Christina Kalka, of Bandera; one sister, Miss Mary Duff of San Antonio; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
