Frank Patrick Cowden, 68, of Riverton died on Tuesday, May 24, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
He was born Jan. 14, 1937 at Nebraska City, Neb., the son of Waldo "Wad" Paul and Norine Fredricka (Schminke) Cowden. He married Diane Jo Smith on Jan. 9, 1959 in Hamburg.
The couple had four children: Debra, Kristine, Franz and Charles. He graduated from Riverton High School in 1955. He worked at the bank in Riverton until his death.
He served on the Farragut School Board and the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Riverton Methodist Church and the Community Club.
He is survived by his wife; four children; Debra Ann Easterla and husband David or Maryville, Mo., Kristine Marie Martin and husband Leo of Westboro, Mo., Frank Patrick Cowden II
and wife Barbara of Eagle, Neb., and Charles Fenton Cowden and finance Molly Gurber of Gretna, Neb.; two grandchildren, Michael Patrick and Kelli Kristine; brother John Cowden of Riverton;
sister Sally Windsor and husband William of Lawrence, Kan.; nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Robert Lee.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 27, at the Methodist Church in Riverton with the Rev. Norman Walter officiating. Burial will be in the Riverton Cemetery.
Memorials go to the Riverton Methodist Church and the Riverton Fire and Rescue.
