Services for Ira G. Clapper, 83, were held Friday, May 7, 1971, at 2pm, at the Crawford Funeral Home, with the Rev. Irving Mitchell officiating.
Duet numbers were sung by Robert and David Crom, with Mrs. Jack Ewalt the organist. Pallbearers were Leonard Worcester, John Brandt, Dale Forney, Merrill Heard, Jerry Van Scyoc and Vernie Aubry, Mrs. Eber Brandt had charge of the memory book. Interment was in the Tabor Cemetery.
Ira George Clapper one of seven children born to Christian William and Mary Burtiss Clapper was born on June 9, 1887 northwest of Thurman. He attended school at Dutch Hollow. He spent his life in the Fremont County area, working on Farms until retirement. He was married to Bertha A. Pierce, on November 13, 1907. To this union four children were born. Mrs. Clapper passed away 1948, Ira later married Dolly Shaft, who passed away a year ago, 1970.
Surviving are three children, Essie of Sioux City; Aleta of Eldora and Ross Granite City, Illinois, 15 grandchildren, and two step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
