McElroy was a small cemetery in the Benton Township. The "Cemetery Records for Fremont County, Iowa" refer to McElroy as one of the lost cemteries of Fremont County.

It is believed that those, once buried in McElroy were removed to the Thurman and Grandview Cemeteries.
