The Knox Family Cemetery sits about 4 miles west of Sidney, in what was once known as Knox Big Springs. This area originally in Missouri. When the state were realigned, Knox Big Springs area became part of Iowa. James Knox was the first postmaster. The post office was in his store. This history is told in the Fremont County Cemetery Book, page 190. A couple of the Knox family burials are:

Knox, Harvey - died 1861
Knox, Hannah - died 18??.
