The French Village, was a small village. It began as an early settlement of white immigrants from Canada. The village was located east of the Nishnabotna River, which
is currently northeast Hamburg.
These early residents came from Canada, during the Canadian Rebellion, in 1836. By 1840, French Village was home to about 40
residents.

However, over time the village has been left behind, leaving only the burials, and very few markers to show
