State of Iowa vs D. W. La Furboise / Furbojse.
Practicing Medicine without a license. Defendant appears
in open Court in person and by his attorney, is duly
arraigned, says that he is correctly named in the
Information, waives time to plead and pleads that he is
guilty of the crime charged. Adjudged that the defendant
is guilty of the crime of practicing medicine without a
certificate as charged and that he pay a fine of three
hundred dollars and costs of prosecution and stand
committed to the jail of Clayton county, Iowa, until said
fine is paid at the rate of $3.33 1/3 for each day as
committed. Bond on appeal fixed at $500.
Ordered that Rueben Luther and Richard
R. Johl, now inmates in the Training
School for Boys at Eldora, Iowa, be suppoenaed to appear
before the Grand Jury at this Term and that the sheriff
of this county serve such subpoena and bring said boys
before said Grand Jury and keep them in his custody all
the time and return them to said Training School as soon
as they have testified before said Grand Jury.

State of Iowa vs Harry L. Bass.
Bootlegging. Pleads that he is guilty of the crime of
bootlegging. Fine of $500. and costs of prosecution. To
be committed to the jail of Clayton county, Iowa, until
said fine is paid at the rate of $3.33 1/3 per day for
each day so committed. Bond on appeal filed at $700.
State of Iowa vs H. A. Teslow. Aiding in
the delivery and distribution of intoxicating liquor
unlawfully sold. Defendant pleads that he is guilty of
the crime charged. Adjudged that the defendant is guilty
of the crimes and that he pay a fine of $100. and costs
of prosecution and be committed to the jail of Clayton
county, Iowa, until said fine is paid at the rate of
$3.33 1/3 for each day so confined. Bond on appeal fixed
at $200.

District Court Holds Short Session
State of Iowa vs Ed. Griffin. Defendant
pleads guilty to crime of desertion of wife and children.
Sentenced to state penitentiary at Fort Madison for one
year. Bond on appeal fixed at $500. Sentence is suspended
as long as defendant pays to clerk of the district court
$10. per week for support of wife and children, first
payment to be made July 26, and each week thereafter. In
case of failure to make such payments the suspension is
to cease and commitment is to issue forthwith committing
defendant to penitentiary for one year. The defendant is
not to go outside of the State of Iowa.
State of Iowa vs Roy Delph. Defendant
waives time to plead and pleads guilty of the crime of
bootlegging. Fined $300. and costs and is to be committed
to the jail of Clayton County until fine is paid at the
rate of $3.33 1/3 for each day committed. Bond on appeal
fixed at $500.
State of Iowa vs H. T. Burgin. Waives
time to plead and pleads guilty of crime of owning
intoxicating liquors with intent to dispense same. Fined
$100. and costs and is to be committed to the county jail
until paid at the rate of $3.33 1/3 per day so confined.
Bond to appeal fixed at $200.

State of Iowa vs. R_tus (missing letter either e or o) Ellenbolt.
Defendant pleads guilty of the crime of driving an
automobile while intoxicated. Ordered and adjudged that
defendant pay a fine of $100.00 and costs and that he
stand committed to the jail of this county until said
fine and costs are paid at the rate of $3.33 1/3 for each
day committed.

State of Iowa vs J. R. Countryman.
Defendant pleads guilty to the charge of gross fraud.
Fined $200. and costs.
Geo. Junk of Guttenberg pleads guilty of
manufacturing liquor. Fined $200. and costs.
Ray Nally of Volga City fined $100. and
costs and stealing a bottle of liquor and giving it to
some boys.
F. M. Walch of Guttenberg was fined
$500. and costs for bootlegging.
W. F. Kramer of McGregor and Joe York
of Marquette were each fined $500. and costs for
bootlegging, also a sentence of three months in the
county jail. These parties sold the liquor to Kleinow the
day of the murder. (Note: See "Murder Of Cecile Kersten 1921")
