Frank Barton, found guilty of assault,
judgement was rendered for $40. and costs or 12 days in
the county jail. State vs. Peter Stein of Giard, who assaulted Henry Kruse with a club last fall. He was found guilty of assault with intent to inflict great bodily harm. Judgement has not yet been rendered. (See again later.) ~Clayton County Journal, 02 Feb. 1887 -- The January Term of the District Court, Judge Hatch
presiding, finally adjourned on Tuesday evening, after a
session of a little over three weeks. In the case of Peter Stein, mentioned last week, the
defendant was sentenced to three months in the county
jail at hard labor. The cases against J. W. Werder, Peter Flaherty and C.
H. Andresen for contempt of court in violating the
injunctions issued against them, were so decided
adversely to defendants, and Mr. Werder was fined $500.,
and Flaherty and Andresen each sentenced to thirty days
in the county jail. |
