Ceremony Performed by Rev. Wm.
Kent in Presence of Relatives

An event of last Saturday was the wedding of Miss Mary Louise Smith of Mason City, to Merlyn Waterman, of Cedar Rapids. The ceremony was performed at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, the pastor, Rev. Wm. Kent officiating. The service was at four o'clock and was followed by a luncheon at Sunset Inn.

Guests at the luncheon included the bride's mother, Mrs. Louise D. Smith, Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Waterman, Mr. Waterman's parents, Miss Marcella Waterman and the bride and groom.

During the ceremony Clark Dexter of Nashua sang "I love You Truly," accompanied by Miss Dorothy Hicks, Mason City, who also played the processional and the recessional. Miss Nancy Scamman of Minneapolis played a cello solo.

The bridal party included Mrs. Harold F. Cole, Grand Rapids, Mich., matron of honor; Miss Margaret West, Mason City; Miss Marcella Waterman, Newell; Miss Frances Partridge and Miss Gertrude Getsch, of Minneapolis, bridesmaids. Beth Carter, Mason City and Betty Cole, Grand Rapids were train bearers and Muriel Smith, niece of the bride, carried the ring.

Miss Smith was given in marriage by her brother, Edward D. Smith of Minneapolis, and Hugh Gordon, Ames, was the best man.

Following the ceremony a reception was given at Sunset Inn. Mr. Watermann [sic] will take his bride on a wedding trip thru Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, and North Carolina. At Ashville, N. Car., he will attend the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity convention to which he is a delegate. After Sept. 15, they will be at home in Cedar Rapids.

Married at Charles City
A quiet wedding was solemnized at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.V. Allison, in Charles City at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, June 25, when their daughter, Miss Ruth, was united in marriage to F.W. Stanton, late of Cresco but now of Nashua. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. O.H. Holmes of Cresco and was witnessed by only the immediate relatives and friends. After the marriage vows were spoken and congratulations offered, the company sat down to a wedding dinner which was completed in time for the newly married man and wife to take the train for Nashua, their new home. Mr. and Mrs. Stanton will occupy rooms for present at Moon's Hotel. They will be welcome additions to Nashua society and we hope they will find in our people agreeable company.
