JOHN S. QUACKENBUSH. pg 45

In the month of July, 1856, John S. Quackenbush and family came to Chickasaw county, and located on the northeast quarter of section 18-94-11, a fine tract of prairie and timber land. Here he lived until his death, the summer of 1864. He was a Justice of the Peace, and also taught school one term in the summer of 1858. Alfred, his son, left here and was in Dubuque for some time, beyond there we lost track of him. The last we knew of Mrs. Quackenbush and daughter Louisa they were living in Chicago, Illinois.
