Was
originally a part of Tilden township but was detached in 1876. Name is
derived from Rock Creek which flows through the township. Early
settlers were Alexander Miller, Richard Larkin, Thomas Chapman, Charles
Durkee in 1868; Blasius Spinharney, Daniel Melter, Adam Corzillius,
Fred Bower, John Specht, Frank Kohn, Mattias and Jacob Fisch, "Matt"
Thiel, John Braley, Thomas Caswell, Jacob Kirchner, and Dom Liffring.
