Glenna Lineback, Daughter of Marcus Girl, Victim of a South Dakota Tragedy
Little Glenna Lineback, daughter of Mr. and  Mrs. Matt Lineback, was accidentally killed recently while the children were playing. The child is a niece of Mrs. F. E. Marsh of Cherokee. Death was the unseen playmate on Tuesday afternoon, May 24, of Dale and Glenna Lineback, children of Mr. and Mr. Matt Lineback, living ten miles north and four miles west of Winner.
The children were so near the same age that they were constant playmates and the boy was acting the part of the sheriff when he saw a .22 rifle in the wash house, which his father had been using to shoot hawks. As his sister entered the wash house, the fatal shot was fired, hitting her in the chest. She ran to the house where she expired instantly. (Source: The Cherokee Chief, Mon., June 6, 1927, pg. 1)

YOUNG BROTHERS ADMIT STEALING FARM CHICKENS
Rasmussen Boys Are In Justice Court Today
Two youths, arrested Tuesday night, pleaded guilty to theft of chickens and were sentenced and paroled to their father at a hearing before Justice John Scott in the court house Wednesday morning. The boys were paroled on the recommendation of Irving Johnson from whom the chickens were taken.
The two youths, Walter and Harry Rasmussen, brothers, living five miles south and one mile west of Good Hope church, were apprehended after the sheriff discovered that chickens stolen from the Irving Johnson farm Saturday night were sold to the Paulson Produce company at Holstein. Thru buyers there the sheriff learned the identity of the boys.
When the sheriff confronted the boys with the evidence he had uncovered, he said they broke down and confessed.
According to the sheriff, 13 chickens were taken from Johnson Saturday  night. (Source: The Cherokee Chief, Thurs. Mar. 26, 1931, pg. 1)
