Mrs. Dell Whitney

SKULL CRUSHED
Mrs. Dell Whitney, of Rock Township, is Thrown from Buggy and Seriously Injured.
Horses Frighten at Engine Whistle

Friday afternoon, Mrs. Dell Whitney was thrown from a buggy and very seriously injured. She with her husband was driving past the Groves farm where a silo is being constructed with the use of a gas engine. Mr. Whitney got out of the buggy to inspect the work on the big silo leaving Mrs. Whitney to hold the team. The engine whistle blew and frightened the team which started to run and in turning Mrs. Whitney was thrown out lighting on her skull which was crushed in above the eye which had to be replaced with a silver plate, her shoulder was broken and several ribs. Dr. Hornibrook of this city was called and with the assistance of a Quimby physician performed the operations rendered necessary by the serious injuries and the patient is resting easily at her home. Mrs. Whitney is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Forsyth of this city and has many friends here who will extend sincere sympathy in this misfortune.
