"CARRIAGES" FOR ROYALTY - A lot of convertibles will be marshalled (sic) into use at the North Iowa Band Festival in Mason City, each of the queens vying for the title of Miss North Iowa occupying such a car in the parade. Shown here (above) are some of those cars lined up on Delaware street waiting for the fair occupants in the 1950 parade.

The photograph above was taken looking north near the intersection of State and Federal.

FLOATS IN PARADE - Beautiful floats depicting part of the North Iowa scene [are] part of the giant North Iowa Band Festival parade . . . Pictured above is the 1950 float of the Cerro Gordo county June Dairy Month committee, graced by Miss Alberta Wendt, Iowa dairy queen. Below is the float of the Mason City Trades and Labor assembly, which won first prize among local float entries.

HER MAJESTY'S FLOAT - On the throne riding down the avenue in the queen's float at the North Iowa Band Festival parade in Mason City is Miss LaDonna Glieden of Laverne, the 1949 Miss North Iowa. In the convertible drawing the royal float are two former queens. In the polka dot dress is Shirley Eyler of Clarion, the 1948 Miss North Iowa, and beside her is Mrs. Marilyn Fowler Lindell of Greene, who was the 1946 winner.

PUBLIC GETS OPPORTUNITY TO JUDGE QUEENS - Visitors at the North Iowa Band Festival in Mason City got their second opportunity to judge for themselves who will be the 1950 Miss North Iowa when the candidates were presented in Central Park in the afternoon. Interest of the public at this appearance of the queens in the park is apparent by this mob of persons on hand for the event in 1950. First view of the queens was during the morning parade when each one rode in an open convertible, followed by the band of her school.

ROYAL ENTROUAGE - It is something of a spectacle to see this long line of North Iowa queens on parade at the Roosevelt stadium in Mason City at the night show on Band Festival Day. The picture (above) was taken at the 1950 event just after the queen was crowned. The new queen is on her way to the throne stationed on the platform and following in her train is the 1950 royalty who were entered in the competition.

JUST CROWNED - 1950's lucky winner for the title of Miss North Iowa at the North Iowa Band Festival in Mason City, was Miss Kay Cayou of Livermore. Doing the honors at the train of the ermine robe, from left are: Mrs. Marilyn Fowler Lindell, queen of 1946; Mrs. LaDonna Glieden Reibsamen, queen of 1949; and Miss Shirley Eyler, the 1948 queen.

SETTING FOR GRAND FINALE - This picture was taken while the bands were making their entry for the grand finale in the 1950 North Iowa Band Festival at Roosevelt field.
