First Freshman Music Student to Perform at MacMurray College Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Scott, and daughter, Barbara, 21 Linden drive, and Miss Ruth Marshall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arleigh Marshall, 324 Seventh street northwest, and Miss Miriam Katz of Osage, have arrived from Jacksonville, Ill., where Miss Scott, Miss Marshall and Miss Katz attend MacMurray College for Women. The three students will spend their spring vacations at home. Mr. and Mrs. Scott went to Jacksonville to be present at the piano recital given by their daughter Tuesday evening at MacMurray college. Miss Scott was presented in the first piano recital to be given at MacMurray college by a freshman student. Its recitals heretofore have been limited to junior and senior students. This, was Miss Scott's seventh annual piano recital. While in high school she won the national piano contest at Cleveland, Ohio, at the age of 13 while she was still a sophomore in that school. At Mason City she was a member of the mixed chorus and the girls' glee club and took a leading part in three operettas. At MacMurray Miss Scott is social chairman of Phi Kappa Delta and vice-president of the Madrigal club. She is the pupil of Hugh Beggs, and before coming to MacMurray studied with the late Mrs. Gertrude Huntoon Nourse of Drake University. Her program follows:
