Would pay $1,000 to be Legislator

Mason City - Mayor Fred A. Kirschman said he would pay $1,000 for the privilege of serving one term in the state legislator. He would devote his entire time towards making some provisions for suitable punishment for drunken, worthless husbands who spend all their money for booze and beat and abuse their families.
