About 100 attended the picnic held by the Independent Order of Foresters at East park Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Willis BEMIS in charge. Games and stunts were diversions of the afternoon. Bill CHAMBERLIN was first and Sidney
BEMIS, second, in the tire rolling contest; Leona BEMIS, first, and Gladys BELSETH, second, in the egg rolling; Wayne and
Don CHAMBERLIN, first in "going through the subway." Clair BEMIS and Don CHAMBERLIN, first in the two-in-one race;
Iris BEMIS, first and Edith SKOGLUND, second, in the water bearers contest. Mrs. Vern MOTT caught the chicken in the
housewives race and Otto MYERS was first and W. B. OLESEN, second, in the men's lobster race. In the bottle race for
everyone, the team headed by Sid BEMIS won first. The BEMIS twins, Lily and Lila, won both prizes in the cradle roll
for children, and Lily BEMIS won the kindergarten balloon race. A give and take ball game was played by elimination
and the winners were Curtis SKOGLUND and Otto MYERS. The remainder of the afternoon was spent in horseshoe pitching.
