MASON CITY, June 16. -- Fire from a lightning bold destroyed the $80,000 high school building here this morning, with a loss
of $75,000. The building was insured for $68,000, $18,000 of which had been but recently taken out and added to what
insurance was previously on the building. The building was one of the finest of its kind in the state. In addition to the
building, the large library and laboratory equipment was destroyed.
