has been actively associated in the progressive business life of Anita for more than thirty years. For many years he was identified with one of the most thriving mercantile houses in Cass county, and for a period of twenty years made this business a successful one.

Mr. Voorhees has been president of the Anita bank since 1903, and by giving his personal attention to the supervision of its various departments has made this bank a thriving one. He is an extensive owner of real estate in several states of the union; for instance, he owns 1300 acres in Cass and Pottawattamie counties, Iowa. In Oklahoma his holdings comprise 1,000 acres and a large in tract in Utah; eighty acres on this land comprises a fruit orchard and one hundred acres is in alfalfa. Mr. Voorhees represents the best type of a citizen and is a loyal booster for Iowa. Fraternally he is a Shriner.
