Edward Thebiay was born 30 June 1846 in France to Dominick and Frances Thebiay. Edward Thebiay immigrated to America in 1870 to Lee County, Illinois. He was married on 22 May 1873 to Lydia Barlow born 21 September 1857 (daughter of August and Adelle (Pye) Barlow. Their children were: Mary (married William Wasem); Adline (married Peter Sadler); Della (married Frank Bulis); Jennie (married Jesse Kithcart), Arthur (married Ella Empman); Adolph (married Lela Waddell); William, Tressie (married Carl Nelson); and Edna (married George Lewis). Edward Thebiay died 31 July 1932 and Lydia died 26 July 1931. They are buried at Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa.
