I can find no connection to Wright County, Iowa. What is your source for Wright County?

I did locate a John Thomas Ulin who might be the individual you are looking for? He died in Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa and was buried in Delta, Keokuk County, Iowa. He was the son of Andrew Jackson Ulin. He died of hemorrhage of the lungs which is consistent with TB.

Andrew, James and Wilbur Ulin, of Flanders, South Dakota, Mrs. Cora Liske and three children of Laramie, Wyoming, and Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Ulin of Delta, Tunis De Winter and wife of Delta, and Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Chadwick, of Hedrick, are at the John Ulin home on South Ninth street, called here by the illness of Mr. Ulin.

clock, at his home 1000 South Ninth Street, as the result of a hemorrhage of the lungs, after an illness of five years' duration. He was a native of Mahaska county and is survived by a widow, two sons, four daughters, one sister and six brothers.

As for Sarah (Ulin) Scates Menifee, it looks like you are confusing her with Elijah Menifee's first wife. She also was named Sarah --- She was born March 5, 1821 and died May 19, 1867. Elijah then married Sarah Scates.

Sarah (Ulin) Scates was married to Elijah Menifee on April 5, 1868 in Keokuk County, Iowa. They are enumerated in the 1870 Census in Jackson Twp., Keokuk County, Iowa along with her children from James Scates.

Elijah Menifee was born January 15, 1816 in Virginia and died in Lincoln County, Kansas on April 19, 1892 according to:
